It's never ideal if you enter a restaurant knowing you're short on time, but nevertheless this was our opportunity to return to Don Giovanni for some true Italian flavours.
We opted to start with the garlic bread with mozzarella, which comes in a pizza shape and has a soft dough, that is on point temperature wise - delicious. Then Pedro ordered the Spaghetti Nero di Sepia (we love squid ink pasta) with seafood in a white sauce... now, we've been before and it was outstanding - the kind of meal you mention to all your friends, but this time, it was just ok (cue heart sinking sounds). Something about it was not perfect, it tasted ok, but a bit like it had not been freshly cooked. The disappointment was palpable, but luckily my Ravioli Aragosta ( lobster ravioli) came in to save the night... It was creamy, fresh, spicy, soft, melted in the mouth... everything you'd expect it to be.
Time was really short, but if you have to wait for the bill, you might as well wait whilst devouring a perfect homemade Tiramisu (yes, it's good enough to pop in just for dessert).
